With new statutory allergy safety guidance coming into force from September 2026, schools will soon be required to demonstrate robust policies, trained staff, and effective emergency response capability. At Red Box Consultancy Services, we are already supporting schools and trusts to get ahead of these changes with a flexible, practical approach that builds both confidence and compliance.

How we can support your school

We are a Highfield Accredited Training Centre and can deliver accredited courses with certification. The Government Guidance is not yet released, however it may be that accreditation rather than simple training delivery, becomes best practice. We offer a blended allergy training solution designed to maximise accessibility while ensuring strong understanding and consistency:

Flexible e-learning module
Staff complete a structured online course covering allergy awareness, anaphylaxis recognition, and response protocols at a time that suits them through 2 online modules, content is robust and covers necessary levels of competence.

  1. Supporting your workforce to effectively manage anaphylactic emergencies licenses- £5.00 plus VAT per candidate.
  2. Introduction to Allergen Awareness course- £15.00 plus VAT per candidate.

Charged at £20.00 plus VAT per candidate. You can access online reporting on progress and allocation.

Follow up for accreditation in 2 stages

  1. Facilitated online or in-person discussion session. A live, expert-led session to reinforce learning, answer questions, and contextualise training to your school environment.
  2. Follow up In-person assessment and certification. A final on-site session where staff complete a formal knowledge-based assessment, leading to certificated Highfield Allergen Awareness and Control in Catering Level 2 training.

Charged at £17.00 plus VAT per candidate with an additional one day Consultant charge of £550.00 plus VAT for the in person session and exam invigilation.

This model allows you to:

  • Minimise disruption to the school day
  • Increase staff participation and completion rates
  • Evidence structured knowledge and understanding
  • Demonstrate a robust, defensible approach to safeguarding

Policy development and review

Alongside training, we provide practical support to ensure your documentation is as strong as your delivery:

  • Review of existing allergy policies against emerging statutory expectations
  • Development or refinement of whole-school allergy policies
  • Creation and alignment of individual care plans and allergy action plans
  • Feedback on implementation to ensure policies are workable in day-to-day school operations

This ensures your school is not only compliant on paper, but fully prepared in practice.

Why this matters now

While full government guidance is expected in 2026, schools will face a short implementation window. Early preparation ensures:

  • Staff have a clear understanding of allergy risks and response protocols
  • Policies are robust, consistent, and aligned to best practice
  • You avoid last-minute pressure and variable training quality

Our approach is grounded in operational experience across education, catering, and compliance, ensuring solutions that work in real school environments.

If you would like to discuss how this could work for your school or trust, or to secure early training dates ahead of September 2026, please get in touch.
