Red Box Reviews...Rustico

The second in our exciting series of restaurant reviews!

We visited Rusticos in Aberdeen recently for dinner with a long-standing Client. We've been many times before when in Aberdeen for business. This is one of the busiest restaurants in the city and is always full and “buzzing”.

The overall meal experience was great and the service warm and welcoming as always. The staff all have their names on the back of their shirts which adds to the fun!

The specials board was neatly presented and written in chalk. There was a seafood pasta special, a honeyed-fig starter and a couple of rather exciting looking chicken dishes. The food is always flavoursome and well-made and presented, and this visit was no exception. We chose two pasta dishes; a spicy seafood marianna and a carbonara. These came in sensible size portions with the theatre of the black pepper mill and freshly shaved parmesan.

Our food was washed down with a couple of Peronis, although normally we look at the wine list which includes many Italian favourites.

The meal was finished off with a trio of ice creams – but we could have been more adventurous with the menu!!!

Great meal and service – just what is required for a cold winter’s night in Aberdeen :-)
