Sustainability: How important is it to customers?

According to a recent summary of the UKhospitality/CGA Future Shock Report, Big Hospitality find that customers are keen to see sustainability in practice, but are not always willing to pay for it.

Sophie Witts comments how, according to CGA’s latest BrandTrack survey, the UK’s hospitality sector is working hard to promote sustainability, but practices have room for improvement. The sixth UKHospitality/CGA Future Shock Report, focuses on sustainability in the industry, highlighting the work currently being undertaken by businesses to promote sustainability. It also examines areas in which the sector must improve and how best to respond to increasing customer demand as well as anticipated future legislation.

This report comes in the wake of others, such as Melanie Curtain's of Inc.com, clarifying that Millenials (born between 1977 and 1995) are more likely to pay a little more for sustainable goods. It seems the younger generation are leading the way in opening their wallets for an environmentally positive approach.
